One day trip to Volubilis , Zarhoun and Meknes itinerary
Your driver will pick you up from your hotel or Riad around 9am. He will drive you through the new city of Fes, then across the green and fertile landscapes of Sais plains.
After around 60 mins drive, you reach Volubilis, the oldest city of the Roman Empire outside Europe. This UNISCO World Heritage Site contains Various Roman columns, Arches, ancient olive presses, remains of mansions with original Mosaic designs, baths and pools.
After exploring Volubilis, we continue our excursion towards the hilly small town of Zarhoun, home of Idriss 1st, founder of Idrissit Dynasty and father of Idriss 2nd, founder of the city of Fes. There, we will stop for a short while to explore the panoramic views in this mountainous town.
Next stop is the beautiful imperial city of Meknes (a UNISCO World Heritage Site). We will stop by the stunning and huge gateway, Bab Mansour to take pictures and explore nearby sites.
After Meknes we return to Fes to your hotel or Riad
